Hello, I'm Gemma

Photography has always been a part of my life, from my Dad's amateur interest when I was a child and my first Minolta Memory Maker film camera from Santa. My Mum's keen interest in genealogy and family trees - which coupled meticulous research with old family photos - has always made me feel connected to the previous generations of my family, and given me a strong sense of self and my heritage.

My subsequent 20-year career in fashion marketing continued my love of photography, imagery and content and their ability to tell personal stories, evoke emotion and give people a sense of connection to others. Shutterbug Studio was born out of this love, to help others tell their life stories through images.

I am the nostalgic, the one with the memory boxes, the photo albums and the sentimentality. In an increasingly digital world, our photos and memories become lost, stored on a hard drive or stuck in the Cloud.  These memories deserve to be shared and relived and safeguarded for the future.

A member of international organisation The Photo Managers, I have completed training with them and adhere to their Code of Ethics.
